TEMPORARY GRADUATE (TG)
The Temporary Graduate or TG application type is for those who have completed their Bachelor’s degree or higher level. The applicants should have a degree from a renowned Australian University. This is an absolute qualification-only skill assessment chosen by the applicants applying for a subclass 485 visa only.
Criteria Required:
- Temporary Graduates can apply for the proposed occupation listed in the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) for a subclass 485.
- The applicant must possess Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher level with a major in the ICT field for the nominated occupation.
- The applicant must satisfy the Australian Study Requirement (ASR) for visa purposes.
NOTE: ACS doesn’t undertake the applicants’ ASR requirements. It is carried by the Department of Home Affairs solely.
POST-AUSTRALIAN STUDY (PAS)
Post-Australian Study or PAS application type is for the candidates who have completed their Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher-level education and are willing to take skill assessment for migration purposes. For PAS, applicants need to complete the ACS Professional Year Program of other related Employment from an ICT background.
Criteria Required:
- Applicants must have an Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher education level with an ICT major in the nominated field.
- After completing a related Australian degree or a Professional year program, one year of work experience will be required.
SKILLS ASSESSMENT
Skills Assessment is applicable for candidates having tertiary ICT qualifications and employment classified under general skill assessment.
Criteria Required:
There are different criteria that you’ll need to meet according to the ICT degree that you possess.
Qualification is equivalent to AQF Bachelor’s degree or higher with ICT Major.
- If you have a degree in ICT major congruent to your occupation, you’ll need two years of work experience.
- If you have a degree in ICT major, but it is not congruent to your occupation, you’ll need four years of work experience.
Qualification equivalent to AQF Bachelor’s degree or higher with ICT Minor
- If you have a degree in ICT minor congruent to your occupation, you’ll need five years of relevant work experience.
- If you have a degree in ICT minor that is not congruent to your profession, you’ll need six years of relevant experience.
Qualification equivalent to AQF Diploma or Vendor Certification
- If your AQF degree or vendor certification is an ICT major congruent to your occupation, you’ll need five years of relevant work experience.
- If your AQF degree or vendor certification is an ICT major, not congruent to your occupation, you’ll need six years of relevant work experience.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning or RPL application type is for those who do not possess ICT qualifications or have insufficient ICT content. You can go through ACS-approved RPL samples for understanding the RPL application type in depth.
Criteria Required:
Non ICT Qualification is equivalent to AQF Diploma or Higher.
- If you have insufficient ICT content with an equivalent AQF Diploma or higher, you’ll need six years of work experience along with an RPL application.
No tertiary ICT qualification – work experience only
- If you do not have the tertiary ICT qualification, you’ll need eight years of work experience along with an RPL application to meet the criteria.
