An Australian bachelor’s degree or higher is required, preferably with a major in ICT that is closely relevant to specified field of work (ANZSCO). In addition, you must meet one of the criteria listed below for an ACS competency evaluation:
1 year of relevant experience gained after receiving an Australian degree in the relevant field, or
3 completing a pathway for the ACS Professional Year Program Skills
This pathway is an application for general skills assessment to examine tertiary ICT credentials and ICT employment.
You need a degree that is equivalent to an AQF bachelor’s degree or higher with an ICT major and two years of work experience within the last ten years. A degree that is equivalent to an AQF bachelor’s degree or higher with an ICT minor and five years of work experience within the last ten years. A degree that is equivalent to an AQF diploma or vendor certification plus five years of work experience within the last ten years.
Pathway 4: Prior Learning Recognition
If your qualifications have little to no ICT content, are nonexistent, or both, or if you lack any ICT qualifications, you can follow this pathway to take the Developer Programmer 261312 assessment.
You must have at least 6 years of work experience and a non-ICT certificate that is comparable to AQF Diploma or above. If you lack even a tertiary degree, you must have at least 8 years of relevant work experience.
